Why we read instinct
What people say they want and what actually pulls them are two different things. Independent research published in Scientific Reports (Nature) tracked travelers’ instinctive responses to destination imagery and found that those split-second reactions predicted their later preferences, capturing signals their stated answers left out.
That is the foundation U-GO is built on. We read your instinct, the part of you that responds before you can put it into words.
From literature to personas
Our research into travel personality and how people approach their travel style resulted in a model grounded in personality psychology and traveler behavior. We synthesized academic literature to define a series of distinct personas, each shaped by the specific emotions and values that drive how you explore the world.
Tested against the science
To ensure our personas reflect genuine personality profiles, we validated our model using the HEXACO personality framework. This is a globally recognized, psychometrically sound instrument used in advanced psychological research.
For each travel persona we identified in the literature, we formulated hypotheses about their dominant personality traits. These were mapped against the values and motivations from our initial research.
